Good afternoon, KSCS Family:
Praise the Lord, we made it through another quarantine! As a bonus, Texas didn't try to kill us with a winter storm this year! God is good!
I hope you all are rested and ready to get back into the school routine. We have a lot of work to do!
Here is some news that you can use:
HOT LUNCH
A volunteer has offered to handle hot lunch on Mondays. We are still looking for volunteers for Wednesday & Friday! Please send $5 with your student if you want them to have hot lunch. This week's lunch menu is:
Monday - Haystacks
Wednesday - Burgers & Fries
Friday - Fettucine Alfredo

HEALTH SCREENINGS
We will finish the last part (spinal) of our screenings on Wednesday. Please ensure that girls wear a tank top under their uniform shirt so that our physician's assistant can conduct the spinal screening.
EXTRACURRICULAR CLUBS - A CHANGE IN TUESDAY & THURSDAY CLUBS
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday clubs conducted by Grandma Jan will continue to be after school. Tuesday & Thursday clubs that are conducted by the teachers will be infused into the school day and occur during the last 40 minutes of the school day. We will have sign-up sheets for students on Monday.
VALENTINE'S DAY ROSES SALE - FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 11!
Our See's Chocolates sale was interrupted by our quarantine, so we have postponed it to March. Instead, we will be selling long-stemmed red roses for Valentine's Day! Roses are $24 a dozen. We encourage your student to sell to everyone they know! The student with the highest amount of sales will be given a special prize!
COCOA & COOKIES BAKE SALE - FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 11
We're excited to resume our bake sale! This month, we will be selling hot cocoa (ready-to-drink as well as gourmet mixes) & cookies. Please donate your favorite batch of cookies! If you're a small business owner and would like to sell your items, please contact me!
7th & 8th Grade MUSIC FESTIVAL - FEBRUARY 25-26
Although there were a great deal of concerns regarding COVID, the Texas Conference Board of Education voted to continue with the annual Junior High (7th & 8th Grade) music festival. They have pledged to have safety measures in place. In light of their decision, we have agreed to move forward in going as long as the 7th & 8th grade parents consent. Please let me know your feelings about your students attending.
KSCS EDUCATION PROGRAM AT LEWISVILLE SDA CHURCH - SATURDAY, MARCH 5
KSCS students will be conducting an Adventist Education emphasis worship service on Saturday, March 5. This date change will us more time to make sure that all students can participate. If you attended Adventist Christian school and would like to provide a video testimonial, or would like to provide a testimonial of how KSCS has impacted your student, please contact me!
SPRING BREAK - MARCH 11 - MARCH 18
Our Spring Break begins at 12:00pm Friday, March 11. We will resume classes on Monday, March 21.
6TH & 7TH GRADE OUTDOOR SCHOOL - MARCH 20 - MARCH 24
After being sidelined for two years because of the pandemic, Outdoor School is back!!
• Date: March 20-24, 2022
• Cost: $175 per student, and non-conference sponsors
• Registration: Sunday, between 3:30 - 4:00 pm, on March 22nd . Supper will be around 5:30 pm – in the cafeteria .

Please let me know if your 6th or 7th grade student is attending outdoor school. We are fundraising to defray the $175 per student cost. We are also looking for chaperones, so if you are interested in chaperoning please let me know.
MAIN EVENT FIELD TRIP - MOVED TO FRIDAY, MARCH 25
Due to the tremendous spike in COVID cases within Denton County, the KSCS School Board voted to move the Main Event field trip to March in order to allow the infection numbers to decrease. Your child's and family's health is of most importance to the School Board and they believed that this is the best course of action.
WE NEED HELP!!!!!
We desperately need help in office support, hot lunch, and after-school care on Tuesday & Thursdays! Please let me know what you would like to help with and we'll get you started right away!
